Profile

I have always had a love for photography, especially for wildlife and the outdoors. My first love is Africa, from big cats, elephants, and the diverse range of mammals to birds and wild open landscapes. I am awed and inspired by this wonderful continent and the natural beauty it has to offer. I try to capture moments, glimpses, behaviour, anything which brings out the animal’s own uniqueness. Wildlife photography is as much about respect as it is about composition, observation, light, patience and time. I strive to capture this in my images.

I love being out in the field, wherever that may be. When in Africa, I spend long hours in the bush and let the animals move on their own terms. In other locations, I try to capture the heart of a place, trying to tell a story or capture a moment. A photographer’s learning journey never stops and I am always looking to try new things to improve my technical and observational skills, whether that be while out with the dogs or exploring the vibe of a city centre.

My images are created to live as prints and books, creating a documentary feel, balanced with calm, colour, contrast and space.
